The Genomics Core Facility (GCF) at the University of Bergen provides comprehensive, high-quality genomics services to support cutting-edge research in basic, translational, and clinical science.
We deliver end-to-end genomic solutions, covering the entire workflow from experimental design and wet-lab processing to advanced bioinformatics analysis and data management. Our expertise supports studies of genome structure, dynamics, and function across a wide range of research areas.
The facility is located on the 6th floor of the Laboratory Building at the Haukeland University Hospital campus, ensuring close integration with clinical and biomedical research environments.

Cancer Genomics at Oslo University Hospital
The Genomics Core Facility has delivered high-throughput genomic services for more than 20 years and serves as the dedicated cancer node of NorSeq.
We offer a broad portfolio of methods for studying genome structure, dynamics, and function using high-throughput sequencing, microarray, single-cell and spatial technologies.
Our expert staff provides comprehensive support from experimental design and sample preparation to advanced data analysis. Key applications include tumour profiling, liquid biopsies, single-cell analysis and spatial multi-omics, with particular emphasis on cancer-focused and translational research.

Our services are provided as a comprehensive end-to-end solution covering all aspects from experimental design and sample quality control to advanced data analysis that produces biologically meaningful results. New ONT P2 Solo available
A new Oxfor Nanopore P2 Solo has been installed in collaboration with the CoE PRIMA. A new GPU-based workstation financed by UiO to support ONT. ONT long read sequencing will allow sequencing ultra-long DNA and native RNA fragments, and native methylation of DNA, and can be coupled with specialised protocols like single cell sequencing. Spatial Omics Minisymposium
Join us at the Spatial Omics Minisymposium on the 3rd of December, at ICR, Oslo University Hospital. The minisymposium will introduce ‘Deep Visual Proteomics and feature local speakers presenting research using spatial omics techniques available at the local Core Facilities in Oslo. Proteomics Core Facility, Advanced Light Microscopy Core Facility, Flow Cytometry Core Facility, Bioinformatics Core Facility, and Genomics Core Facility, NorSeq-Cancer.

MAKING THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE
GREAT NEWS! We have received funding from the University of Oslo to establish a Network for Spatial Multi-Omics together with Tuula Nyman, and Stig Ove Bøe. This initiative will strengthen collaboration among the Genomics (NorSeq-Cancer), Bioinformatics, and Flow Cytometry Core Facilities at the Institute for Cancer Research, as well as the Proteomics Core Facility and the Core Facility for Advanced Light Microscopy. The network will boost expertise across our teams and enhance the services we provide to support pioneering research at Oslo University Hospital and University of Oslo.

We have performed the first Element Biosciences AVITI24 Teton CytoProfiling run in Europe. A million cells, multiple cellular morphology markers and expression of hundreds of genes and proteins in just 24 hours. Excited to see what new biology we can uncover.
